It is a shame, but nonetheless, every make and model vehicle requires different parts. All automobiles of late have varying features, custom accessories and performance parts, and replacement parts that must be purchased specifically for the vehicle you drive. This can make shopping for car parts both an expensive ordeal, as well as a frustrating one, when your exact car parts cannot be found.

· Universal car parts:
It has become quite rare to find “cookie cutter” vehicle parts such as OEM (original equipment manufacturers) that will be universal to almost ay car. Now we do not have the “one size fits all” options anymore. These car parts unique to the automobile that needs them are not just for common part, but designed for entire systems.
§ There is the argument on the side of the customer, though. That this is a real problem in the automotive industry. We hope to make available standardized car parts. However, this is a time-consuming and arduous proposition.

· Reduce the Cost and not the Quality:
The prices of many specific car parts are simply too high. Buyers always need to consider warrantees and extended warrantees for that reason. You have to read the fine print a lot more closely when car parts are not standardized. After-market car parts are only replicas of the originals, they are not exactly the same and can be trouble for you later down the line whereas if you want true quality and performance, the specific auto part you need is really the auto part you should purchase. Many automobile manufacturers have already demonstrated the desire to standardize more car parts.

· High Performance and Custom Vehicle Car Parts
There are extras for everyone who wants to pimp up their rife—from engine parts, to many different performance enhancers, to lift kits, the only trouble is, you have to have the specific parts for your specific vehicle and the cost of high performance and custom vehicle parts can be unbelievable—and not in a good way. So what you have to ask yourself is: Do I reallyneed this? Is it really worth it?

· Extras
You can get everything from CD changers to sunroofs, there are a gazillion options when it comes to extra car parts. However, many of these parts are also specific to your exact type of vehicle. Some are not, true. But these are only extras—they are not the most vital parts of your car.

The automotive industry is considering changing their ways. But it will take a long time if it is done at all. This is why certain car parts can be so hard to find, why prices can be blown through the roof by manufacturers, and why buying car parts can be a real challenge for you.
